The Great Basin is under a multitude of specific threats from industrial extraction. Overgrazing, mining, Pinyon-Juniper forest destruction, water theft, nuclear and toxic waste, rampant sexual assault and commercial sexual exploitation, racism and violence against indigenous people and immigrants, and more.
We live in dangerous times. To overcome these issues, limited single-issue reforms will not be enough. Instead, we need true revolutionary and liberatory change. The centers of mass for these systems of power must be isolated, targeted, and destroyed — whether those centers be physical, cultural/ideological, or even spiritual.
